The Batarang Blaster was released in 1990 as part of the Dark Knight Collection.
Details[]
The Batarang Blaster is a single shot HAMP blaster which fires Batarangs, which are large foam projectiles shaped like Batarangs.
It has one molding difference between itself and the earlier Blast Jets Thrust Launcher, as two small notches have been added to the back of the foregrip to keep it from closing too much and pinching skin.
History[]
The Batarang Blaster is the second generation in the NB-1 series, being preceded by the Thrust Launcher and succeeded by the NB-1, and then the Glider Launcher and Pteranodon Launcher after that.
It was released in 1990 as part of the Dark Knight Collection and appears to have been unpopular because of fragility issues with both the blaster and the ammo. The blaster uses a bronze color for the front handle and the back of the barrel, which appears to have been low quality and brittle. Atop this, the included Batarang is made of very soft foam, and is very susceptible to durability issues and is easily damaged.
Trivia[]
- The Batarang Blaster is techbically compatible with five types of ammo, just like every other in the NB-1 Series.
- The Batarang Blaster is the second most common out of the NB-1 Series, despite its issues.
- The Batarang Blaster is copyrighted by DC Comics, Kenner is only mentioned at the bottom.
- The Batarang Blaster is the last blaster in the NB-1 series to not have molding for ammo holders, nor the security ring on the barrel.
