The DoubleBreach is a 2017 Nerf N-Strike Elite Mega blaster that is able to hold up to 6 Elite Mega Darts: two in the blaster and four with the included dart holder. It is a direct plunger blaster, and is quite thin for most Mega blasters. It claims a range claim of 90 ft./27 m. As it has a direct plunger, it is very powerful, but is not easy to modify due to its interesting loading system.
Description[]
The DoubleBreach has a gray pistol grip with black accents, a red body, a grey or orange trigger depending on whether one's country has dart blaster safety regulations, and a Nerf logo embossed on the rear. A big white textured "MEGA" is seen on the body, following the same textured "MEGA" that the Mastodon had. Along with orange barrels, a black pump grip and a place for the included ammo rack to clip into on the left hand side of the blaster. On the left hand side of the blaster as well, there is an orange slider, which when pulled back, exposes the loading mechanism for the blaster where two Elite Mega Darts can be slid in and inserted to prep them for firing.
Internals[]
The DoubleBreach's internals are unknown at the moment, but it has a direct plunger, trigger and springs.
Position in Theme[]
The DoubleBreach acts as a pseudo-shotgun in the lineup, due to its odd loading system.
Blaster Co-relation[]
There are not too many blasters that one can compare the DoubleBreach to; the nearest blaster one can compare it to is the Sharpfire or Sharpfire Delta, as both are breech-loading blasters, although the Sharpfire loads from the top.
Faults[]
Like most other blasters, the DoubleBreach has faults. One of the major faults is the loading procedure of the weapon; loading the weapon takes a rather long time and precious seconds could be wasted in a Nerf war while trying to load the blaster. Another problem is you have to load the darts in all the way.
How to Fire[]
Step 1 - Pull the pump backwards.
Step 2 - Slide the orange side cover backwards.
Step 3 - Load two Elite Mega Darts into the barrels in the now-exposed cavity.
Step 4 - Slide the side cover back forward.
Step 5 - Push the pump grip back forward.
Step 6 - Pull the trigger to fire a dart.
Step 7 - Prime the blaster again to fire the second dart.
Trivia[]
- In speculations of the original leak image, it was unknown what the name would be.
- It was also speculated it would fire 2 Elite Mega Darts at once.
