The Gear Tooth Arrow is a type of Nerf Arrow that comes packaged with the Triple Torch. Out of the three ammunition types that came with the Triple Torch (the two others being Mega Darts and Micro Darts), it is considered the worst performance-wise, due to its poor range.

It is the smallest arrow, being only 5.2 inches long.

The Triple Torch was also the only blaster to include such arrows, making them very rare. It is quite similar to a regular arrow, except that it has gear-shaped fins.

Oddly, the arrow has an very loose fit on the Triple Torch, which is what makes it so poor performance-wise. The fit is so loose that the arrow has a chance of falling off if the blaster is pointed down.

History[]

SInce it was only included with the Triple Torch and only one was included, the Gear Tooth Arrow is one of, if not the single rarest type of ammunition from the 1990's, sans perhaps Zap Snaps Rockets and Hydro Torpedos.

Despite it being a completely new type of arrow with better performance than its larger counterparts, no other 5.2" arrows were ever made.

Trivia[]

  • Despite having poor performance with its patron blaster, it shoots hard off of other arrow blasters due to its small size.
  • It gets similar performance to the Mega Darts if a Micro Dart is loaded into its patron blaster with it.
  • Strangely, the Gear Tooth Arrow has two different inner diameters. The larger is closest to the back of the arrow, while the smaller of the two is further in, and actually cannot be reached by the Triple Torch's short barrel.
  • It is one of only two arrow types to have a deviation of the standard fins, the other one being the Cyber Stryke Arrow.
  • It is also one of the only ammo types specifically aesthetically designed for a series. The other three types are the Cyber Stryke Arrows, Aero Gliders, and Hydro Torpedoes.
  • The Gear Tooth Arrow's performance can be drastically increased on its patron blaster if a Micro Dart is loaded behind it.
  • Strangely, the 2000 re-release of the Triple Torch's packaging calls it a 5" Missile, despite it being a type of Arrow and only being compatible with Arrow blasters.
  • It is the reason that Arrows have the largest length variation of any Nerf ammo, having an almost 6 inch difference between itself and 11" Arrows.
