The Powerball is a 2017 Dart Zone Ballistix Ops blaster that holds 8 Power Strike Rounds. It is the entry-level model (and only blaster) in the series, and packs a punch despite being small. It is extremely potent, having excellent range and power. As it belongs to the Ballistix Ops series, it is meant for older users. It has a velocity claim of 100 fps.
Description[]
The Powerball is the small blaster of the line. It has a large charging handle which also functions as a fore grip, which is to be pulled back to prime the blaster. The gun also has a safety, which prevents it from being fired unless it is disabled. It comes only in a blue color.
The Powerball is notable for having Ballistix Match Technology, which allows it to accept Nerf RIVAL High-Impact Rounds and RIVAL magazines (referred to as "leading brand" on packaging).
Internals[]
The Powerball has a very large direct plunger and a firing trigger, along with a few springs and a ratchet mechanism. Of note is that the Powerball lacks any form of air restrictor.
Position in Theme[]
The Powerball, being the only blaster in the Ballistix Ops line, pretty much acts as the standard blaster for anyone's use.
Blaster Co-relation[]
The Powerball is very similar to the Titanium, a blaster in the Adventure Force Tactical Strike series; both come with the same type of hopper and operate very similarly.
Faults[]
Like all other blasters, the Powerball has faults. The main fault is that could be hard to prime. This is mainly due to having a very strong and heavy spring.
How to Fire[]
Step 1 - Load 8 rounds into the included 8-round hopper.
Step 2 - Load the magazine into the top of the blaster.
Step 3 - Disengage the safety if you haven't already.
Step 4 - Pull the charging handle back and push it forward.
Step 5 - Pull the trigger to fire a round.
Trivia[]
- The Powerball, as mentioned earlier, is the only blaster in the Ballistix Ops series as of 2018; it is unlikely that there will be other blasters in the Ballistix Ops series due to a shift in focus to the newer Adventure Force Tactical Strike series. It is unknown if the Powerball will be marketed as an Adventure Force Tactical Strike blaster in the future.
