The Pyragon is a 2012 Vortex blaster that holds 40 Vortex Disks, this time in a red color scheme. It is similar to the Praxis, but has a 40-Disk Drum, a red color and a different foregrip. It is capable of firing in Slam Fire mode, because of the high capacity. The priming handle looks similar to that of a Raider CS-35. According to Swedish shopping website Webhallen , the Pyragon was slated to be released on June 12, 2012. The wholesale preorder date is now set for August 8, 2012, according to Basicnerf.com.

Trivia

  • A Hasbro employee somehow got a Pyragon long before it was released. The employee's son's channel, cckuczerkids, decided to make a review of the blaster itself. Unfortunately, the video was taken down from YouTube. The channel BasicNerf reuploaded it onto YouTube. Until June 15, 2012, this was the only video of the Pyragon that had been released to the public.
  • During the night of June 14–15, 2012, Hasbro released a demonstration video of the Pyragon on their website. The video is still available, at least to some people.
  • A Pyragon was spotted on TaoBao.com.
  • Somehow, it is available on Amazon for $39.99 USD.
  • Many stores don't care about the release date and release the Pyragon, along with the Elite blasters as soon as they get a shipment.

Review

The Pyragon is the Vortex line's most expensive blaster, but definetly worth the hefty price of $40.

Range 10/10 Somehow, this blaster outpreforms all other Vortex blasters in terms of range with 50 to 60+ ft. Range does not decrease when slam firing.

Accuracy 9/10 Disks tend to curve to the right slightly due to the location of the firing mechinism but all in all very accurate. Slam firing reduces accuracy a bit unless you have a stock.

Rate of fire 10/10 The blaster shoots faster than any other Vortex blaster because of its slam fire ability.

Reliability 9/10 The blaster can jam but hardly ever does, but there is a jam switch in the event of one.

Capacity 10/10 The blaster holds more ammo than any blaster at 40 rounds, second to a fully loaded Hailfire.

General 9.8/10 A must buy for any nerfer. A combination of fire rate, range, and accuracy make the Pyragon a force to be feared on any battlefield.
