The Reactor is a 2003 Nerf Atom Blaster/Ball Blaster weapon that was originally part of the Airtech line as the Airtech Ball Blaster, but in 2003 was renamed the Reactor as part of the then-new Atom Blasters line. In 2004 it was again moved, now to the Action Blasters theme and then to the Ball Blasters line. It can fire 6 Ballistic Balls, and is usually called wimpy because of this. It is intended for small children, however after modding the blaster greatly, it can turn into a full-throttle cannon. The Reactor can fire quickly because of it's firing mechanism.

Hasbro's Description

Launch a powerful blast of balls with the pump and pull rapid fire action. Awesome metallic looking finish! Comes with 4 foam balls CAUTION: Do not aim at eyes or face. To avoid injury, use only darts designed for this product. Do not modify darts or dart blaster. Get the right refills!

Trivia

  • On Hasbro.com, it is sometimes mistakingly found in the FurReal Friends section.
  • Popular YouTuber KipKay showed how to turn this blaster into a "full-throttle cannon", which in the end singed the Ballistic Ball and had a far higher range.

Review

Description - The Reactor can hold 6 Ballistic Balls and you pump one end to shoot the gun. The Reactor is similar to a Grenade Launcher. Unlike other nerf blasters, the Reactor doesn't have a tactical rail. The gun can wear out very quickly, which is one of the main criticisms of this gun among Nerfers.

Range - 7/10 - The gun can shoot up to about 20 feet.

Accuracy - 6.5/10 - The Reactor has better accuracy at closer ranges. For some, it can be slightly difficult to shoot.

Reliability - 10/10 - This gun can't jam.

Rate - 10/10 - This blaster can fire up to 5 ballistic balls per second.

General - 8/10 - This is a good ball blaster but the Blastzooka is better for one reason: it is easier to shoot.
