The XP 90: Pulse Fire is a 1999 XP Super Soaker that holds 750mL of water. With the turn of the nozzle, the blaster would switch between normal and pulse fire modes. Pulse fire mode was essentially a precursor to fully-automatic firing. When the blaster is set to this mode, with enough water and pressure, the barrel will recoil back and forth, resulting in a pulsating stream, that actually helps reduce water consumption. It is no longer available for purchase as its home line has since been discontinued. It got average reviews when it first came out and it caused some controversy. It cost $14.99 when it came out. It is classified as an Air Blaster.

Controversy

What made the XP 90 controversial was that some models' tank would explode if the blaster was overpressured. Later on, the blaster was recalled.
